Some may even not be designed to open, such as executibles (.exe and .com) or .DLL files among many. If you need to be able to open a particular file type check these sites and if needed ask about them in a message. WebbThe OP wasn't using a .exe file, but a native Linux executable. Also, Mono won't run all Windows executables - it's designed to replace the Microsoft.NET Framework (I think it's kinda compatible with modern .NET too but I'm not sure). If you want to run arbitrary Windows programs on Linux, you need Wine, not just Mono. –
